Effective fight against ticks and flies in Şişli

The fight against ticks, flies and larvae, which was started by the Şişli Municipality Veterinary Affairs Directorate in March, is being carried out without interruption. Construction areas, parks, ornamental pools and stagnant water bodies in the district have been regularly checked and spraying has been carried out at 1,603 points so far.

Night spraying is carried out regularly in 25 neighborhoods in the district against mosquitoes, which increase in density especially in the evening hours with the arrival of summer months. These works, carried out with a vehicle-mounted ULV device, are carried out meticulously by Şişli Municipality teams.

Parks and green areas are regularly sprayed

In addition, regular pest control is carried out between 08.30-17.00 in a wide area including parks, green areas, streets and abandoned buildings, especially within the scope of combating pests such as houseflies, lice, fleas and ticks. In the first 6 months of 2025, 1,968 pest control operations were carried out within this scope. The fight against mice, which was carried out throughout the year, was particularly focused on manholes. In the January-June period of 2025, a total of 4,743 mouse pest control operations were carried out, 2,186 of which were manholes.
