House arrest for Adıyaman Mayor Abdurrahman Tutdere

While Adana Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Zeydan Karalar, who was detained as part of the investigations, was referred to the Criminal Court of Peace, Adıyaman Mayor Abdurrahman Tutdere was released on condition of judicial control in the form of house arrest by the judge to whom he was referred.

The corruption investigation launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against the criminal organization that allegedly organized the tender processes by bribing the mayors and against the Büyükçekmece Municipality is ongoing. Within the scope of the investigations, Adana Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Zeydan Karalar and Adıyaman Municipality Mayor Abdurrahman Tutdere were detained. Karalar and Tutdere, who were detained, were sent to the Istanbul Courthouse.

Of the 7 suspects whose statements were completed at the prosecutor's office, 3 suspects, including Zeydan Karalar, were sent to the Criminal Court of Peace with a request for arrest for the crime of "extortion by force", 3 other suspects for the crime of "laundering assets derived from crime", and Abdurrahman Tutdere was sent to the Criminal Court of Peace with a request for his release on the condition of "not leaving his residence" for the crime of "extortion by force". Adıyaman Mayor Abdurrahman Tutdere was released on the condition of judicial control of not leaving his residence.

While one of the other three suspects in custody was referred to the Criminal Court of Peace with a request to be released on probation for the crime of "giving bribes", two suspects were released due to the existence of previous probation measures against them.
