The deputy who deleted the university that grants diplomas without exams from his biography: I requested it 2 years ago

The removal of Balkan University, which came to the forefront after a claim from the biography of AKP Kırşehir Deputy Necmettin Erkan that it granted diplomas without an exam, became a hot topic. Following the incident, Erkan released a statement, stating that he had requested the removal of the university two years ago because the university's equivalence process had not been completed.

Erkan's statement on his social media account is as follows:

The recent social media posts targeting me are part of a deliberate smear campaign based on completely unfounded accusations. In order to ensure the public is properly informed and the facts are understood, I would like to make the following statements: I completed the Public Administration undergraduate program at Anadolu University's Faculty of Economics in 2005 and the Economics graduate program at Selçuk University's Institute of Social Sciences in 2013. I also completed the Justice associate degree program at Anadolu University's Faculty of Open Education in 2020. I completed this associate degree program with a four-year education at the International Balkan University. There is no issue with the validity of this diploma. However, due to the pandemic, the equivalence process has not been completed because the courses are being taught in Türkiye. Since the equivalence process has not yet been completed, I requested from my colleagues approximately two years ago that this graduation information, which appeared on my parliamentary biography page, be removed. Therefore, no new CV has been updated at this time. Despite this, a smear campaign has been launched against me by certain intentional circles due to my full support for projects that benefit Kırşehir. During this process, They attempted to exploit our country's current situation as an opportunity. Politics should be conducted with honesty, respect, and common sense. These types of manipulative attacks are merely unethical methods employed by groups seeking to conceal their shortcomings in politics. It is clear that the allegations targeting me are baseless and aimed at political manipulation. I request that all relevant authorities be vigilant in ensuring that the public is accurately informed.
