Versilia Lifeguards League. Massimiliano Pezzini resigns as president.

Massimiliano Pezzini has resigned from his position as president of the Lifeguards League, founded to improve the conditions and quality of beach workers.
With the regretful yet proud voice of someone who knows he has done what he could, and above all, had to, for himself but above all for others. With the words of someone who, despite his commitment, understands, with regret, that it is time to let go. With the eyes of someone who, proud of what has been, remains confident in the future. Thus, Massimiliano Pezzini announced his resignation from the position of president of the Versilia Lifeguards League , founded by the lifeguards themselves to try to improve the quality of work, "making it better paid, safer, more professional." This was done, at Pezzini's own urging, with the renewal of his contract , after the last one twelve years ago, obtaining a higher salary, and with the increase and extension of the supervision period.
Pezzini's decision came after these milestones, and also after the event was canceled due to a lack of permits denied by the municipal offices. The event was supposed to be held on July 25th, World Maritime Rescue Day. This was due not only to external friction, but also internal friction, from the lack of participation due to differing political views, and differing views, even regarding the association's goals and needs.
"Many lifeguards were unhappy with the renewal and the extended surveillance," says Pezzini, who was replaced by Vice President Mario Zeta but, until a potential election is called by the board, will be present to handle bureaucratic matters. "But everything we've done has been done, not only to regularize the situation, but also to look ahead to the future, to the Bolkestein system and a different way of working. I hope this association continues to thrive and someone has the courage to take it over, with an equitable division of labor."
