Domingos Nascimento is a candidate for the Tarouca Chamber

Domingos Nascimento is a candidate for the Tarouca Chamber

In a statement, União Por Tarouca explains that “it is an independent movement of citizens, coming from different political and party realities, as well as citizens without any political activity”, which aims to “give more to Tarouca”.

The movement seeks to “unite differences, competence and age range, also bringing women and young people into the leadership of local power in Tarouca”, adds the same note.

Domingos Nascimento accepted to be the candidate for the Municipal Council of Tarouca, because “there are moments in history that force us to place ourselves at the service of democracy, at the disposal of the community, and of the people, of the many people who asked for it”.

The manager also reveals that he “does not identify” with the model being followed by the current candidates for power. “In Tarouca we cannot just have parties and little parties, we need to shake things up, involve everyone, and, with determination and determination, put Tarouca on a path of serious development. We have been confusing entertainment with development”.

Mónica Trigo, probably the youngest candidate in the country for the presidency of a Municipal Assembly, and who recently completed her Masters in Medicine, says that “when they proposed this challenge it caught my attention, not only because it forced me to leave my comfort zone, but also because I believe that this is an innovative, inclusive and transformative project. I have a special sensitivity to health issues and I would like to use this to contribute to improvements in this area”.

União Por Tarouca “is building an alternative for local government, with transformative proposals, and with a strong focus on health, with the implementation of a free service in all parishes, which will support the elderly in their homes”, the same note states.

The Union also has a vision of an Ecocity for the municipality of Tarouca, doing justice to its potential and its geographical location. “We are publicly discussing this model, which will lead Tarouca to a level of regional leadership in several areas”, it adds.

Innovation and science, with a specially dedicated park, will bring pre-university education to Tarouca and welcome young entrepreneurs. With a new strategy, Tarouca “will reverse the demographic collapse it is experiencing and increase current levels of family income”, stresses the independent movement.

The União Por Tarouca is made up of people with different political sensibilities. Among the well-known names on the list for the city council is lawyer José Amaro. Economist Carlos Cabral is on the list for the Municipal Assembly.
