Serious injuries occurred in the first week of the Super League

The first week of the Trendyol Super League, which began in the second week of August, featured six matches. The players, who were playing their first match of the season, were negatively impacted by the high temperatures and poor pitches in some stadiums.
In the first week, players who lacked fitness within the first 90 minutes of the match were also sidelined due to injury. In the opening match of the week, Gaziantep FK hosted Galatasaray, while Salem M'Bakata was substituted in the 35th minute for the home side. Following hospital examinations, the 27-year-old defender was diagnosed with an anterior cruciate ligament tear in his right knee, tears in the medial and lateral menisci, and a lateral collateral ligament tear. M'Bakata, who underwent successful surgery, will be sidelined for an extended period.
Kocaelispor's preseason signing, Mateusz Wieteska, also suffered an injury in his first match in Türkiye. The Polish defender was substituted in the 22nd minute against Trabzonspor, and the club announced in a statement that tests revealed a rupture in the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.
Peter Etebo also suffered a serious injury in the first week of the season. The Nigerian footballer, playing for Gençlerbirliği, suffered a muscle injury in the 40th minute of an away game against Samsunspor. Etebo was subsequently unable to continue playing, and an MRI revealed a partial tear and bleeding in the intramuscular tendon of his right hamstring (biceps femoris) muscle.
Riechedly Bazoer was substituted from the away team in the 70th minute of the Eyüpspor-Konyaspor match due to injury. Bazoer is reportedly in good health.
