107,723 houses were sold across Türkiye in June

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) has released its June Housing Sales Statistics. Accordingly, housing sales across Turkey increased by 35.8 percent in June compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 107,723. The provinces with the highest number of housing sales were Istanbul with 17,656, Ankara with 9,428, and Izmir with 5,987, while the provinces with the fewest were Ardahan with 38, Bayburt with 62, and Hakkari with 81.
Housing sales increased by 26.9 percent in the January-June period compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 691,893.
Mortgaged house sales reached 14,484Mortgaged home sales across Turkey increased by 112.6 percent in June compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 14,484. Mortgaged sales accounted for 13.4 percent of total home sales. Mortgaged home sales between January and June increased by 100.5 percent compared to the same period the previous year, reaching 103,090.
In June, 3,384 mortgaged houses were sold as first-hand properties, while in the January-June period, 24,446 were sold.
As a result of other types of sales, 93,239 homes changed hands.Other home sales across Turkey increased by 28.6 percent in June compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 93,239. Other home sales accounted for 86.6 percent of total home sales. Other home sales between January and June increased by 19.3 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 588,803.
The number of first-hand housing sales reached 33,569The number of new home sales across Turkey increased by 32.0 percent in June compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 33,569. New home sales accounted for 31.2 percent of total home sales. In the January-June period, new home sales increased by 19.8 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 207,624.
74,154 houses changed hands in second-hand housing salesThe number of second-hand home sales across Turkey increased by 37.6 percent in June compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 74,154. Second-hand home sales accounted for 68.8 percent of total home sales. Second-hand home sales increased by 30.3 percent year-over-year, reaching 484,269 in the January-June period.
1,565 houses were sold to foreigners in JuneHome sales to foreigners increased by 8.7 percent in June compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 1,565. Home sales to foreigners accounted for 1.5 percent of total home sales in June. The cities with the highest number of home sales to foreigners were Antalya with 603, Istanbul with 521, and Mersin with 128.
House sales to foreigners decreased by 10.6 percent in the January-June period compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 9,354.
Most housing sales by nationality were made to citizens of the Russian FederationIn June, the highest number of house sales by nationality were made to citizens of the Russian Federation with 326, Ukraine with 111, and Iran with 109.
