Silivri Municipality completed the wheat harvest

Silivri Municipality has successfully implemented another exemplary agricultural practice that strengthens social solidarity and local production. The harvest of wheat planted on 1,600 acres of municipally-owned agricultural land has been completed. The wheat will be distributed as flour to citizens in need and as straw and seed wheat to farmers.
Silivri Mayor Bora Balcıoğlu, in a statement following the completion of the wheat harvest, stated that the harvested products would be distributed to households in need through the Together Solidarity Market. Mayor Balcıoğlu said, "We have completed the harvest of the wheat we planted on our 1,600-acre municipality-owned land throughout Silivri. We will distribute the flour we harvest to citizens in need through our Together Solidarity Market. We will also support our farmers with straw and seed wheat, helping them sustain their production."
Mayor Balcıoğlu, recalling Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's words, "Agriculture is the foundation of the national economy," emphasized that they acted with this understanding. Stating that they have adopted a municipal model that is productive, sharing, and self-sufficient, Balcıoğlu said, "We share with our people what we obtain from our land. We view municipal governance as a matter of conscience. We act with the understanding of leaving no one behind and strengthen our culture of solidarity. No one will feel alone in Silivri."
