Be careful when diving into the sea!

Prof. Dr. Demet Funda Baş, from Biruni University Faculty of Medicine Hospital Stroke Center, said that unconsciously jumping and diving into water during the summer months, driven by excitement and adrenaline, can lead to serious health problems.
Professor Dr. Demet Funda Baş said, "Symptoms such as weakness, facial twitching, speech impairment, or vision loss following severe neck pain may be signs of a stroke due to a ruptured blood vessel. If you experience such symptoms, consult a specialist immediately."
Prof. Dr. Baş, stating that stroke is one of the leading causes of disability and death in the world, warned the elderly, those with chronic cerebrovascular disease, heart disease, hypertension and diabetes against the risk of stroke in hot weather.
Prof. Dr. Baş stated that rising air temperatures increase the risk of stroke, and also emphasized the need to protect oneself from the direct effects of the sun during midday, when temperatures peak. Prof. Dr. Baş continued:
"In the summer months and in hot regions, limit outdoor activities as much as possible during midday hours when temperatures peak. Summer months pave the way for dehydration. Therefore, meet the body's fluid needs by drinking enough water and avoid excessive caffeine and alcohol consumption."
