The file that has been waiting for three years has expired!

While operations were carried out one after another against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality ( IMM ), especially against the CHP-run district municipalities in the megacity, it was revealed that the file containing corruption allegations from the AKP era in the IMM was closed by the prosecutor's office, saying " the statute of limitations had expired."
In October 2021, the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) administration scrutinized the Viaport Venezia Project, which was commissioned by KİPTAŞ, a subsidiary of the IMM, through a revenue-sharing method in exchange for land sales, during the AKP era. Due to the project's construction process, 135 apartments were transferred to KİPTAŞ.
He bought an apartment for half the priceHowever, on June 15, 2016, it was discovered that a 236-square-meter duplex apartment in Block E was sold at a 52 percent discount to Şirin Ünal , a four-term AKP member of parliament. Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality officials filed a criminal complaint against then-KİPTAŞ General Manager İsmet Yıldırım (now Ümraniye Mayor), Deputy General Manager Tuncay Çolak, Deputy General Manager Cengiz Erdem, and KİPTAŞ Director of Urban Development and Urban Transformation Turgut Büyükçolak, who sold the apartment to Şirin Ünal at half the price. The former KİPTAŞ executives were charged with "breach of trust due to a service relationship."
The case was kept on hold for three years.Following the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality's criminal complaint, an investigation was opened at the Gaziosmanpaşa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office in 2022. Approximately three years later, on December 30, 2024, Public Prosecutor SG ruled that there were no grounds for prosecution and closed the file.
Having served in military courts, SG first became a judge in the high criminal court after the military courts were closed, and during this period, he also served as a judge in the Hrant Dink case. SG was later appointed as the Gaziosmanpaşa Public Prosecutor.
THE STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS HAS EXPIRED!Prosecutor SG explained the reason for the “no prosecution” decision regarding the file that was kept on hold for three years as “the incident took place on June 15, 2016, the crime charged had an 8-year statute of limitations, and this period expired on June 15, 2024…”
HE IS REMEMBERED WITH A SUSPICIOUS DEATHMeanwhile, Şirin Ünal became etched in memories with the suspicious death of a woman working at her home. Nadira Kadirova, an Uzbek citizen, died under suspicious circumstances at the Ankara home of AKP member Şirin Ünal on September 23, 2019. The investigation, conducted by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, was closed with a decision of non-prosecution on March 2, 2020, approximately five months after Kadirova's death. The Kadirova family, in turn, appealed the prosecutor's decision of non-prosecution to the Constitutional Court on June 5, 2020. The Constitutional Court ruled on the case nearly three years later, on March 15, 2023.
The decision stated that "Nadira Kadirova's right to life, as guaranteed by Article 17 of the Constitution, was not violated." It was announced that the decision was unanimous.
