The modernist colossus has been transformed into a luxury hotel. It was once a post office.

As a nod to the building's history, the concrete elements in the interior and the distinctive modernist façade made of Georgian tuff were preserved. The same stone clads the Parliament Building in Tbilisi, located just down the street.
At street level, the building features high glazing, allowing passersby to see into the hotel lobby, restaurant, and library. At the center of the building is a large, green courtyard with an outdoor bar.
Tbilisi: Hotel in an abandoned post office buildingThe color scheme throughout the interiors is dominated by browns, grays, beiges, whites, and blacks. Materials used include blackened metal, dark wood—and, of course, the original, weathered concrete. The café's décor evokes traditional French bistros. Walnut wood dominates the library.

The muted colors that dominate the hotel's interiors are broken only by occasional touches of green. Elements of this color can be found in furniture upholstery, lighting frames, and marble panels, among other places.
