In the UK, a man was walking along the beach with his dog and accidentally found a strange creature that looked like a green alien. Simon Parker, 62, told What's The Jam about his discovery.
A man living in the Welsh town of Conwy spotted a mysterious elongated animal about 15 centimetres long with green bristles and spikes on the sides on the sand. “It was low tide and I was walking along the water’s edge when I noticed something unusual on the sand. It didn’t look alive, but the colours of the bristles on the sides were very clear,” he said.
The Briton took a photo of the animal and after searching the Internet, he found out that it was a sea mouse - a type of marine polychaete worm from the Aphroditidae family. Despite their modest size, these creatures are predators. They hunt small crustaceans and mollusks and can eat prey three times their size.
As What's The Jam writes, sea mice are not rare animals, but they often hide in the sand, so they are rarely noticed.
Earlier it was reported that a British resident discovered a rare sea slug of the Babakina anadoni species in the sea off the coast of Cornwall. This species is called the rainbow sea slug because its body is colored pink or purple, and the appendages that cover it can be purple, pink, blue and white.
