IRKUTSK, July 3 - RIA Novosti. Two women - the deputy chief physician and the secretary of Irkutsk Hospital No. 8, who were stabbed by a patient, are in serious condition, Irkutsk Region Governor Igor Kobzev reports. On Thursday morning, a patient attacked medical workers at Irkutsk City Clinical Hospital No. 8 with a knife and a gas canister. The man was detained by police officers. A criminal case has been opened on attempted murder of two or more persons. "The deputy chief physician and the secretary of the institution were hospitalized in serious condition. Doctors are now fighting for their lives," Kobzev wrote on his Telegram channel. He noted that the authorities will provide all necessary assistance to the victims and their families. Regional Health Minister Andrei Modestov, representatives of law enforcement and investigative agencies are at the scene.
