Popular British journalist and TV presenter Steph McGovern has said that she had an obsessive admirer in the past. On air of the program "This Morning" on the ITV channel, she told about the stalker's actions, which scared her a lot, reports the Daily Mail .
"I had a stalker. (...) He thought I was talking directly to him when I said 'Good morning everyone' on the screen, and he thought everything I posted on social media about my movement was for him," McGovern recalled.
According to the presenter, the admirer was sure that he was in a romantic relationship with her, although this was not the case. The man often met McGovern from work and offered to give her a ride home, but she always politely refused.
The last straw for the journalist was when a fan sent a letter to her father asking for permission to marry her. McGovern was scared that the man had managed to get her father's address to send the letter. After that, the presenter contacted the security service of the BBC channel where she worked, and since then the stalker has not contacted her anymore.
Earlier, Celebrity Big Brother reality show participant Jojo Siwa spoke about strange and frightening packages from a man who was stalking her. She said that the stalker once sent her a sex toy.
